John Wayne Movie Guns
Purvis Auctions presents original guns from John Wayne’s iconic movies including "She Wore a Yellow Ribbon," "Rio Grande," "Fort Apache," "The Alamo," "Alleghany Uprising," and others. These guns were also used in "Distant Drums," starring Gary Cooper; "Escape From Fort Bravo," with William Holden. Other movies include "Springfield Rifles," "Drums Along the Mohawk," "Northwest Passage," "Sea Hawk," and countless other movies and TV Shows."
These guns are original circa 1873 U.S. Army issued Springfield Trapdoor Rifles and Carbines. The rifles were modified to look like a 1700’s musket. The carbines were left original. They are actual functional firearms with real movie blanks. The guns come from a large collection of Hollywood Firearms owned by Al C. Frisch, archivist and collector. Many of Al’s guns are in the NRA Museum at Bass Pro in Springfield, Missouri.
Purvis Auctions will be selling these guns and hundreds of other collectible firearms at our Second Annual Valentine’s Weekend Premier Auction.
